Letter to parents

Dear parents, I hope everyone is OK and coping well under these strange circumstances that we find ourselves in. I write to you today to outline the steps that the school are currently undertaking to ensure that your child will continue to receive the best education possible. We, the staff at Scoil Cholmcille, understand that everyone’s circumstances are different and some people will have more time to help with homeschooling than others. Remember all any of us can do is our best.

In the likely scenario of a prolonged closure we feel that it is wise that we send home as much work as possible to the children. This Friday, the 27th of March your child’s workbooks and other resources will be made available for collection in the GP room in the school.

Following this, your child’s class teacher will be in constant contact with you via email to keep you informed of any work that needs to be done and the time frame in which it needs to be completed.

Added to this there will also be a homeschooling tab on our website www.scoilcholmcille.ie. Parents and children can access this for ideas, resources and different competitions that the school may arrange.

To ensure that social distancing is adhered to this Friday, only one adult will be permitted to enter the school for collection. No children will be allowed in the school.

The following timetable for collection will apply.

Junior and Senior Infants 10am-11am

First and 2nd class           12noon-1pm

3rd and 4th class             1pm-2-pm

5th and 6th class              2pm -3pm

Please note that multiple packs will available for collection at the same time.

If anyone has any queries or concerns please email the school. In the meantime stay safe and your child’s class teacher will be in contact  with you shortly with instructions in relation to your child’s pack.

Regards

Karol Lynch
