Northburgh Castle

3rd and 4th class have been researching our local community in History. We have researched the local castle on our i pads  and discovered many interesting facts! We took an afternoon out to explore the castle itself.

NEWSLETTER September 2018

Welcome back to everyone for what is expected to be a very busy new school year. A special welcome to our 18 new Junior Infants who have settled in so well and are getting on so well with Mrs Kealey.

I would also like to give a warm welcome to Sinéad Havlin who has kindly offered to volunteer in the school. I’m sure both the children and teachers will keep Sinéad busy and we look forward to getting to know Sinéad better.

A note for your diary.  Mid-term break begins Monday 29th of October. The school will close for midterm at 3pm on Friday 26th of October and re-open on Monday 5th November.  Due to the upcoming referendum we may be closed for midterm on Thursday 25th October @ 3pm.

May Procession and Ice Cream fun day.

On Friday the weather behaved itself and the children, parents, grandparents and staff of Scoil Cholmcille had a great day. To start we had our annual “May” procession in honour of our Lady Mary (even though it was June 1st). After that we had a great time sampling some fantastic Ice-cream as part of our fun day in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland. Massive thanks to everyone who helped out in both events.
