A reminder that the Christmas plays will take place in the coming weeks. The Junior Infants and Senior Infants will perform Gabriel’s Big Break on Tuesday 17th of December at 11am. (Please note the change of date) Meanwhile, The Senior Infants and 1st Class will perform Children of the World on Wednesday the 18th at 1pm.
Please note that although teachers do not expect a present at Christmas time from the children in their class this tradition can still happen. Like last year, please consider instead of a gift for your child’s teacher, a small donation (€2) as part of Christmas Jumper/non uniform day on the last day of term. The money collected will go towards SVP.
Tickets for the children’s draw are available from the office. Once again the prizes are very attractive. Prizes include an O’Neill’s voucher, a Foyleside Voucher as well as a Smart TV!!!! Tickets are available from Caroline in the office €1 per ticket or €5 for 6. A reminder that all draw cards are to be returned by Wednesday 11th December. The draw will take place at the Tea Party on Sunday 15th December.
The Christmas afternoon Tea Party will take place on Sunday 15th of December in Greencastle Community Centre. This represents a very enjoyable social event and one which the parents’ association put a lot of work into. We hope to see you all there! Doors open from 2pm to 5pm. There will be lots of activities for the kids as well as plenty of treats for the grown-ups!!
The children from Scoil Cholmcille are performing at the switching on of the Christmas Tree lights in Greencastle this Friday the 6th at 7pm. Siobhan Phillips has kindly given up her time to work with the children and they are sounding great. Thanks Siobhan. We ask all children taking part in the choir on the night to gather in the tent at 6.30pm.
Please note that children are not allowed to cross the road by themselves at the school gates at 3pm. If parents are parked on the far side of the road, please cross the road and collect your child/ren at the school gates.
Thanks to all parents who attended the parents’ evening. Anyone who could not attend are free to contact their child’s teacher to arrange an alternative appointment.
Well done to everyone who contributed to the Road to Hope Shoe Box Appeal. Over 50 boxes were collected. They will go a long way to making some children very happy this Christmas.
