NEWSLETTER September 2017
Welcome back to everyone for what is expected to be a very busy new school year. A special welcome to our 13 new Junior Infants who have settled in so well and are getting on so well with Mrs Canning.
I would also like to give a warm welcome our two new members of staff. We are delighted to have Mrs Eilish Doherty back with and she is joined by Mrs Aisling Doherty. Both teachers are working as SET’s (Special Education Techers).
A note for your diary. Mid-term break begins Monday 30th of October. The school will close for midterm at 3pm on Friday 27th of October and re-open on Monday 6th November.

In a bid to raise the profile of our school and to showcase the wonderful work that everyone put into Scoil Cholmcille, the school are hoping to launch our new website in the coming weeks. The website will hope to keep both parents and children updated with ongoing events and photos of what is going on in the school.
It is vital that we try to keep up good communication links between school and home. Please notify Caroline in the office if you have changed any of your contact details.
Again a reminder that attendance is very important at school and it is vital that your child comes to school on time and with all the correct equipment. Please notify the school before 10.15am if your child is absent and remember, every day counts!! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Well done to all those children who are bringing in their healthy lunches. It’s great to see so much fruit and veg in the children’s lunch boxes this year. Please try to avoid sugary items such as chocolate and sweets. Of course a treat is allowed on a Friday. But Friday only!!
If any parent who collected Garda vetting forms could return them to Caroline in the office along with two pieces of ID. The best time to get Caroline is between 8am and 11am.

The parent’s association are holding a FUN RUN/WALK in order to raise funds for the school. The run is due to take place on Saturday the 7th of October at 2pm. It is sure to be a fun day for your family and friends. So spread the word!! More details on the race will follow shortly.
