Dear parent/guardian a reminder that the school will close on Friday 2nd of March so teachers can complete training in relation to child protection.

Thursday 1st of March is world book day. As usual to celebrate we invite all children to come to school on that day dressed as their favourite character from a book. Another option is to come dressed in your pyjamas with a book under your arm! We hope to put up some photographs of children reading in unusual places on our website. We invite all parents to photograph your child reading a book in an unusual place and email their photo to scoilcholmcillewbd@gmail.com. If you’re looking for some inspiration you can check out www.scoilcholmcille.ie for some photos that were sent in last year. All entrants will be entered into a draw for a book voucher.

A reminder that our rescheduled open night for incoming Junior Infants 2018 will now take place  on Wednesday 28th of February from 6pm-7pm. Let’s hope for better weather!!

Patsy Cavanagh will put on a performance/workshop this year for the school on Tuesday 27th of February in the GP hall. Last year the children really enjoyed his depiction of the battle of Clontarf with Brian Boru and the Vikings. This year’s theme is Emigration and I’m sure that it will prove to be both educational and enjoyable for the children. In order to cover the cost of the performance/workshop we ask for a €1.50 contribution from all children.
